    Function runProcessBackgroundWork

    • Runs one piece of the process's background work — the launch's tail handed to the set (MobileProcessBackgroundShape.handOver), a platform's process timer — in the one explicit context background work has, and judges its outcome in one place.

The context. Background work belongs to the process, not to the caller that started it, so nothing of the caller's place rides into it: no raw-answer collection (RawAnswerRecorder — the tail's answers are the process's, never part of an action's raw or of a collection the caller opened), no hold of the screen turn (ScreenTurnHeld off — a challenge over it takes the turn alone), no transition and no enter burst (ScreenTransition, ScreenEnterDepth), and it is marked as the set's (InMobileProcessBackground). The detour is the one thing named explicitly (ProcessBackgroundWorkOptions.detour).

The judgment. A stop of a challenge the call's branches could not settle (OtherwiseDispatchStop, read with otherwiseDispatchStopOf) ends the process with the call's typed failure it carries; a session-fatal failure ends it with that failure (AppProcessReference.endIfSessionFatal); so nothing internal can end the process. A process with no reference ends nothing. Everything the work left goes to ProcessBackgroundWorkOptions.left.
