An action that needs the handle it is taken from — because it takes an edge itself — with the same "only on top" check action applies, taken from the one place that owns it. action hands its body only the state; an action that continues into another screen after its request needs the handle to take that edge from.

It belongs to the screen framework rather than to a platform: a second platform whose screen action takes its own edge uses this one, never a copy.
